Beth Schiffman has an M.S. in Traditional Chinese Medicine, from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM). She is an ABORM Fellow, and is board-certified to treat infertility. She and her team of practitioners focus on internal medicine with emphasis on reproductive health for both men and women. Her passion is reproductive health, and she manages the NorCal Fertility Group, which is a specialized group of Fertility Acupuncturists dedicated to serving the Bay area. She also studies Mandarin Chinese. Beth has a B.A. in Political Science with emphasis in Global Peace and Security. She studied International Relations and worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. She was sent to South Korea on a student diplomatic program sponsored by The Asia Pacific Foundation.

Dr. Jack Bourla is a 1997 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his class, and was the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships. Dr. Bourla has worked as a University lecturer in Biology, as a family planning counselor, as an administrator at Stanford, and as Director of Scientific Operations for a large biotech company. As a practicing Chiropractor, Dr. Bourla works with his patients to help optimize their well-being by maintaining a healthy spine and nervous system. Combining chiropractic care with acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, therapeutic massage and nutrition offers patients a comprehensive approach to health and longevity.

Eunice Kan is a California licensed and national board certified (NCCAOM) acupuncturist and herbalist. She has practiced in a wide-range of hospital and clinical settings. She has also completed advanced clinical training at Zhe Jiang University hospitals in Hang Zhou, China, with rotations in TCM internal medicine, dermatology, gynecology, pediatric and acupuncture departments. She holds a four-year M.S. from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a B.A. from University of California, San Diego. Eunice specializes in women’s health/fertility, orthopedic/sports acupuncture, pain management, facial rejuvenation/dermatology and pediatrics.

Joanna Cooper Shell, L.Ac., M.S.T.C.M.
Acupuncturist and Herbalist

Joanna received her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a four year graduate program.  She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and French Linguistics at the University of California at Santa Barbara.  She originally became interested in acupuncture when seeking treatment for three herniated discs in her back after all other options had failed.  The acupuncture was so successful that not only is her back healed, but she returned to school to become an acupuncturist herself.  In addition to treating pain, Joanna specializes in fertility, women’s health, depression and anxiety.  When Joanna isn’t treating patients, she is teaching therapeutic horseback riding to people with special needs in Woodside with her horse, Joe.

Carla has been with Many Lives Chinese Medicine for over seven years. She has training in a wide spectrum of modalities, allowing her to tailor her massage to the specific needs of each client. She uses broad strokes and works with a hot stones to deepen the massage. Gentle Shiatsu stretching is used to help to stimulate rehabilitation and bring forth a healthy balance. Carla’s massage style is designed to help with complicated muscular issues, severe muscle tightness, stress relief, and to improve range of motion.
